WRITING FOR THE STAGE
Whether writing absurd sketch comedy, crafting a 10-minute dramatic play overnight for a 24 hour theatre festival, adapting a Shakespearean play for children, or creating new and original works to teach the faith, the stage is where Emily began. She likes to sprinkle all her work with a dash of humor while heightening tension wherever possible.

From tight deadlines like the 48 Hour Film Project to scripts that have taken years to conceptualize, Emily has written numerous film projects. She first started writing film to get good clips for her acting reel, but then discovered she’s actually good at writing! Currently she works in collaboration with AMDG Films to craft compelling stories that reveal truth, beauty, and goodness.

Having written two 5-Episode Series for The Saints Podcast (from the Merry Beggars with Relevant Radio), Emily has discovered what it takes to craft a story that relies solely on an audience’s listening skills. It is a joy for her to hear her work fully produced and to have the opportunity to use her creativity to hand on the faith!

DIRECTING FOR THE STAGE
As a Choleric/Sanguine, Emily is a natural director and leader who brings joy to actors as she drives them to craft notable performances. Emily has directed both adults and children in plays and stage productions, including some plays she has written herself. She frequently choreographs dance pieces for her stage productions as she has an extensive dance background and a love of movement.
Emily also directed the St. Hildegard Choir for girls aged 8-13 for three years at St. John Cantius Parish encouraging young singers to use their voices for the Lord!

After being on-set as an actress for countless film productions and watching boundless hours of ‘Director’s Commentaries’ for acclaimed films, Emily was stirred to begin directing films herself! As a director and producer of numerous short films, some of which she has acted in as well, Emily specifically tailors each moment to capture the heart of an audience and create a compelling story that must be watched. This student-created poster for ‘The Invitation’ promoted a 15 minute short film that a class of Emily’s teens wrote and produced under her guidance and direction.
DIRECTING FOR AUDIO
After years of performing voiceover work, Emily had the felicitous opportunity to stand on the other side of the microphone when she directed a 5-Episode Audio Series for The Saints Podcast from the Merry Beggars with Relevant Radio. From Zoom Actor Rehearsals to the In-Studio Recording, Emily made sure that her actors lifted each line of dialogue to hit the right note for the story. This was her first time directing actors to capture walla (all those crowd and background sounds)!
