St. Gabriel the Archangel

Patron Saint of Messengers, Telecommunications, Radio Broadcasters, and Postal Workers

Feast Day: September 29th (Feast of the Archangels)

St. Gabriel the Archangel is best known for his appearance in the Annunciation, in which he brings the message to Mary that she shall be overshadowed by the Most High and bear a son. “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!” (Luke 1:28). The name Gabriel means ‘my power is God’ or ‘God is my strength.’ In artwork, St. Gabriel is often depicted with lilies to symbolize purity.
